There's one in all of us...

...After becoming obsessed with the soundtrack and receiving the 'Heads On And We Shoot' book about the making of the film for Christmas, I finally got to see this little treasure the other day. Just as I expected I was totally swept up by it. It took a beautiful work of children's fiction and made it into an honestly poignant feature film about a child for adults. Perfect for those who secretly harbor a desire to acquire a wolf costume and run away from home... I loved the warm but intimidating feel that the costumes gave and the naturally gritty environment they created for the wild things, from the vasts shots in the desert and open sea to the wonderfully crafted nest like huts. The film makers gave you time to interpret the story for yourself, the plot was simple but the reasons were left unexplained... I loved that. Karen O's accompanying the visual just totally worked.. it was wild and untamed just like the film. I listen to it and I feel like a can shout along too 'Rumpas Reprise' and it doesn't matter because its fun and your free...
